Deputy County Manager - Chief Financial Officer Salary Grade 88 (Salary Range: $111,444 - $176,135 - Commensurate with Education and Experience Pitt County, the hub of eastern North Carolina, is recruiting for an experienced Deputy County Manger - Chief Financial Officer to function as a member of the County's Management Team. Pitt County is a progressive, professionally managed organization with a budget of over $240 million and close to 1000 FTEs. Under limited supervision, this position performs highly responsible supervisory, administrative and fiscal control work for County government in the capacity of the organization's Chief Financial Officer. Work involves, planning, coordinating, and directing County financial management and administration. Responsible for maintaining records of bonded debt, planning and directing the receipt, disbursement and accounting of County revenues and expenditures, managing the investment of County funds, and assisting the County Manager in preparing the annual budget. Supervises a staff of professional, technical and clerical personnel, has indirect oversight of the Tax Administration and Animal Services Departments and serves as a liaison to the Board of Elections and Department of Social Services.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, and preferably a Certified Public Accountant, or has a Master's Degree in a related field, and 6 years of progressively responsible financial management experience which includes a minimum of 3 years each of supervisory and governmental accounting experience, preferably in a local governmental setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
