Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA), a progressive water utility providing water, wastewater and reclaimed water services to the Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Supervisor.
The purpose of this position is to maintain OWASA’s assets. This is accomplished by organizing and completing preventative and corrective maintenance; planning daily work assignments; maintaining adequate spare parts inventory; organizing and reviewing contractor assistance; maintaining the daily vehicle inspection program for vehicles; maintaining treatment plant and lift station equipment, reservoir pumping facilities and elevated tank sites. Position is responsible for developing project costs; providing input for developing budgets; utilizing computer programs for reports, letters, correspondence, spreadsheets, etc. Other duties include participating in spill response team; acquiring quotes and estimates in accordance with OWASA purchasing policy.
Candidates must have an Associate’s degree in related field with three to five years of experience. Previous experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred. Position requires a valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License. Must meet and maintain requirements for safety sensitive position.

Candidates should have good communication skills with the ability and willingness to lead and assist the team to fulfill the mission and goals of OWASA while ensuring safe work practices are followed.

Salary range: $57,839 - $89,070
